TUMMY TUCK (ABDOMINOPLASTY)

What is Abdominoplasty (Tummy Tuck)?
Abdominoplasty is a surgical procedure designed to tighten the abdominal wall muscles and remove excess skin and fat to flatten the stomach. Sometimes, liposuction can be added to aesthetic abdominoplasty.

How long does aesthetic abdominal surgery (Abdominoplasty) take?
Aesthetic abdominal surgery takes 2-5 hours. If a mini tummy tuck (miniabdominoplasty) is performed (in this surgery, a smaller portion of abdominal skin and fat is removed), it can take 1 to 2 hours.

What is done in aesthetic abdominal surgery (Abdominoplasty)?
In Abdominoplasty, a long incision is made just above the pubic area between the hipbones. Through this incision, abdominal skin and fat tissue are lifted over the muscles. The navel is left in place, and the abdominal skin is tightened. This completely removes the often cracked, saggy, and fatty abdominal area between the navel and the groin and also corrects sagging and herniated abdominal muscles. Under the abdominal skin that is tightened and toned, a structure similar to a corset is created, wrapping your waist and abdomen with the abdominal muscles and fascia structures.

What are the side effects of Abdominoplasty (Tummy Tuck)?
Patients may experience pain, numbness, or swelling of the abdominal skin for several weeks or months. Prominent incision scars and infections can occur.

When can I return to work after aesthetic abdominal surgery (Abdominoplasty)?
You can return to work within 2 to 4 weeks after Abdominoplasty. For more strenuous activities, it may take 4 to 6 weeks or longer.

Am I an ideal candidate for Abdominoplasty (Aesthetic abdominal surgery)?
An ideal candidate for Abdominoplasty can be considered as someone with excess skin, sagging in the abdominal area, and fat accumulation around the stomach.

• Pregnancy/childbirth

• Weight loss or gain

• Aging

As a result, deformations can occur in the abdominal area. If exercise and diet are not effective, you are an ideal candidate for Abdominoplasty.

Is pregnancy safe after Abdominoplasty (Aesthetic abdominal surgery)?
Pregnancy is not dangerous after Abdominoplasty, but it is likely that the muscle repairs and tightening performed after abdominoplasty will return to their previous conditions.
